ens & ESI

ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) and ESI (Early Scent Introduction) are gentle exercises we do with our puppies during their first few weeks of life.

  • ENS helps support healthy brain development and strengthens their nervous and immune systems by exposing puppies to mild stressors in a safe, controlled way.

  • ESI introduces puppies to new scents daily, helping boost their confidence and scenting ability—especially helpful for service, therapy, or working dogs.

These early experiences lay the foundation for well-rounded, adaptable puppies.

exposure
activities

We thoughtfully socialize our puppies with a variety of new experiences, including different environments, textures, objects, sounds, children, and other animals. By introducing age-appropriate mental and physical challenges daily, we help each puppy build the confidence and adaptability they'll need to thrive in any setting.

This early exposure lays the groundwork for well-rounded, resilient companions ready to take on the world.

daily handling

We handle our puppies daily, using gentle exercises to help them become comfortable with being touched, picked up, and held. This regular interaction ensures they are well-conditioned to human contact and helps build a strong, trusting bond with people from the very beginning.

Early handling is key to raising affectionate, confident puppies who love being part of the family.

potty training

Our puppies are introduced to litter box potty training from an early age. Each pen includes a shallow litter tray in a designated potty area, helping them naturally learn to keep their sleeping and play spaces clean.

As they grow, we also begin outdoor potty training, giving them a smooth transition to housebreaking in their new homes.

grooming exposure

Our puppies receive regular grooming exposure to help them become comfortable with handling and care routines. Throughout their time with us, they experience nail trims, baths, blow drying with a high-velocity dryer, and gentle brushing with a soft brush.

By the time they go home, they’re already familiar with basic grooming—making future vet visits and spa days a breeze!

crate training

Our puppies are gently introduced to crate training before they go home. They spend short, positive periods in a crate—gradually increasing in duration as they grow. This early conditioning helps them adjust more easily to crate trainingin their new homes and sets the stage for smooth transitions and restful nights.

potty
training

Our puppies are litter potty trained from a young age. We use a shallow litter tray placed at one end of their pen, which helps them naturally learn to separate their potty area from their sleeping and play space. This early training lays the foundation for easier housebreaking once they go home. When the weather is nice, we also take the puppies outside for potty breaks to further reinforce good habits and introduce them to going potty outdoors.

Our puppies are built with the best foundation

-built on health, structure, socialization, and love.
From day one, we focus on giving each puppy the tools they need to thrive as confident, well-rounded companions.

At Sorensen Corgis, it is our mission to give every puppy the best possible start in life, setting them up to become confident, well-adjusted adult dogs.

From the very beginning, intentional care and thoughtful planning go into each and every litter. We carefully select parent dogs with desirable traits, conduct thorough health testing on all sires and dams, and provide exceptional nutrition and care throughout pregnancy and whelping. The foundation we lay for our puppies begins long before they are born.

Once they arrive, our program includes daily handling, structured exposure and enrichment activities, early crate and potty training, and temperament evaluations. All of these tools work together to give our puppies the confidence and resilience to thrive in their future homes.
